DesignTek testing products to the EXTREME ……..

DesignTek in conjunction with Regal-Autosport & Design 911 entered Design 911’s  ”Big Bore” 3.8ltr engine Porsche 996 twin turbo into the Brands Hatch round of the Time Attack series, the car was prepared, and only finished a few days before the event, the roll cage was bolted in place the night before so no time for pre-testing. We were thrown in amongst “the big guns” Pro-Class, this is mainly where the tuning companies come out to commence battle with their awesome machinery and this Class has now become the benchmark for tuners to showcase exactly what they can achieve with a lot of the top machines putting down lap times that are faster that that seen within BTCC and other established racing formulae.

The Porsche 996 turbo was originally built to test the DesignTek performance products range to the extreme for road and track use. The Porsche is fitted with a range of DesignTek parts like Sports Exhaust with 100 Cell High Flow Catalytic Converters, Turbo Charge Inter-coolers, Boost Pipes, Induction Filter, Brakes Calipers and Disc, 6 Point FIA Harness, Coolant Radiators and much more.

Strapped in the drivers seat was Porsche Carrera Cup driver Tony Gilham focused and ready for the challenge. Both the driver and vehicle performed brilliantly qualifying 4th in class and “the fastest Porsche” on track.

Early Porsche 911’s get a breath of fresh air ……..

Porsche performance parts specialist have just released two brand new free flowing sports pre-silencers for Porsche 911’s 1974 -89, these two new products cover all 911 engines 2.7L / 3.0L / SC and 3.2L. The new design has the option to fit an oxygen sensor which is mainly used on USA spec vehicles. Blocking the sensor hole will make them useable for
all European models.

Made from high grade stainless steel exhausts system for Porsche 996 GT3 MKI & MKII. The system is produced with high flow 60mm T304 stainless steel tubing and fixed together with T316 Lsi welded joints. Porsche Performance tuning software… Just got better.

Car dealer Steve from Quayside car centre tried the DesignTek Porsche ECU re-map on his Porsche 996 Turbo , there’s what he had to say.

I have been selling and enjoying the Porsche owner and driving experience personally for a number of years now. I’ve purchased many quality items for Porsche from design 911 over recent years.. 

I purchased a 911 996 turbo from Cambridge this week.. It’s a project car, and I decided to try the Performance upgrade that Design 911 offer on my way back up to Cheshire.   

What can I say?? WOW!
From the moment I walked into Design 911’s showroom In Essex, the experience was positively memorable. Karl, Graham and the team made me feel welcome, and we’re extremely helpful and knowledgeable..

With in 2 hours the performance upgrade was complete! I have previously owned a 996 GT2 turbo, and can honestly say that the drive back up to Cheshire (Some 240 miles) was the most enjoyable in my driving experience of 911’s.. The improved +90Nm of torque was most noticeable, delivering instant and improved acceleration, the increased BHP to approx. 480 BHP was notably there! The turbo performed incredibly, and noticeably more smoothly. I can’t believe the value of this upgrade being a modest £599+VAT. The icing on the cake was the improved MPG increasing from 21.5 MPG to 25 MPG! I was so impressed with the whole experience, that I’ve booked in a 997 3.8 C2S for a Re-map next week.
I’ll keep you posted with my findings.. I can personally recommend that you’ll receive a warm, friendly and professional service from the team at Design 911.

Great success at Rockingham…
Second in pro-am1 and backing up his earlier category win was Tony
Gilham and his performance earned him the ‘driver of the weekend’
award, while his ReDesign Racing team was confirmed as winners of the
‘team of the weekend’ award for the Porsche Carrera Cup round at
Rockingham on Sunday 13th April.

Porsche Carrera Cup Brands Hatch..
Congratulations to Tony Gilham and the ReDesign Racing team on
completing their first race weekend, finishing with 22 points and 4th
in the overall Porsche Carrera Cup GB championship. “To come 1st in the
Pro-am category on Saturday and 2nd on Sunday was a great achievement
for the team and driver”, Say’s Karl.

New Cayenne new exhaust..DesignTek’s
new Porsche face lift Cayenne sports exhaust is now in production, they
are due to released towards the end of March 2008. Designed to offer a
fuller sports sound and produce better throttle response. Two new
designs for the facelift model Porsche Cayenne V8 4.8ltr S and the
Porsche Cayenne V8 4.8ltr Turbo.

Attention to detail…. Rusty
original Porsche wheel bolts can damage your alloy wheels. DesignTek
have a solution for Porsche Boxster, 996, 997 and Cayman owners.
DesignTek Porsche wheel bolts are produced from SCM440 grade alloy
steel which has good resistance to a wide variety of corrosive media
including nitric acid and some organic acids. It attains its maximum
corrosion resistance when in the highly polished or buffed condition.
In general its resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion resistance
is close to that of grade 304. Stress corrosion cracking resistance of
Grade 440 is very high. Each wheel bolt is chrome-plated for lifetime
quality; which means, pass 240 hour salt spray test.   View wheel bolts

More Power for Porsche 996 Turbo…
DesignTek introduces high performance Porsche 996 Turbo and 996 Turbo
GT2 inter-coolers. The inter coolers control the side to side flow
design that flows along it’s 16inch length. This IC will be more than
sufficient for any highly tuned 996TTs or GT2s cars to applications of
upto 900hp. DesignTek Porsche inter-coolers produces high-flow rate and
dramatic temperature reduction which are mainly contributed by two key
factors. Firstly, the great temperature reduction is accomplished by a
35% larger than stock sized intercooler cores in which each core has
the capacity flow rate of 750 CFM. Secondly, which in our opinion is
the most important element of an IC; the inlet/outlet end-tanks. Our
end-tanks are a one piece cast aluminium construction design, formed
with little to no corners and are also fully polished on the insides to
increase air velocity; therefore minimizes welding points and greatly
increases air flow and reduction in pressure drop which yields to
improved efficiency. Also please note that all of our intercoolers come
only in high polished finished for that uncompromised appearance.

Great responce to new Products…
We have a great response to our new Porsche Cayman sports exhaust and
100 cell sports catalyst. The Porsche Cayenne 4.5 S and 4.5 Turbo sport
exhaust has been a little slow selling in the beginning, but is now
taking off as more and more Cayenne owns modify their cars. DesignTek
have now introduces a comprehensive range of Porsche wheels spacers for
Boxster, 996, 997, Cayman we have 7mm and 15mm sets, for the air cooled

Porsche Carrera Cup… Design 911
and the DesignTek brand will be entering the Porsche Carrera Cup GB
which is at the very pinnacle of British motor racing. Stunning cars,
top teams and drivers and unrivalled back up from Porsche Cars GB makes
the Carrera Cup the obvious choice for 2008.
In 2008, the Carrera Cup GB will again be a major support race to the
MSA British Touring Car Championship, thus ensuring the biggest crowds,
best atmosphere and greatest media coverage available in British motor
racing. We are entering the Porsche Carrera Cup GB with a new team and
new car.
The new car developed and built by Porsche Motorsport in Weissach, will
feature an impressive 420bhp, an increase of 20bhp over the existing
cars, along with a number of detail changes. Follow our success as the
story unfolds.

New Products launch…. We have
just released our new range of Porsche Cayman & Boxster 987 sports
exhaust and Porsche Cayman & Boxster 987 sports catalysts. Both
products are designed to give a sporty sound and increase in power.
This month also see the introduction of our Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo
sport exhaust systems.

Products grow from strength to strength….
Designtek introduces a brand new range of Porsche exhaust for 911
1974-89 , 964, 993. October also sees the launch of the new stainless
steel turbo exhaust systems for 996 Turbo and 997 Turbo.

“Cayman and Boxster 987 sports exhaust, cats and headers will also
be available very soon, We hope to have them ready for the beginning of
November 07″ says Chopra.

The take over…. September 2007 saw Porsche parts specialist Design 911 take control of DesignTek products and the brand.

“We feel that DesignTek have the right quality products and a fantastic
range that our customers can appreciate. We are also very interested in
expanding the complete range for 2008″ says Karl Chopra director of
Design 911.

“996, 997 and Boxster owners are already very familiar with the
DesignTek brand, we will continue to produce new products for newer
models and also introduce high quality products for the older models
such as 911 1974 -89 and 964 / 993. We are also looking at the 944 and
968 ranges.” says Chopra.

The Trip of a Lifetime….. GT
Porsche Magazine & DesignTek arranged a trip of a lifetime &
track day at the Porsche factory in Leipzig Germany. A number of our
customers came along for the five-day trip which took place from
Thursday 9th August to Monday 13th. The response from our customers was
superb.

May 2007

SPA Belgium Trackday….
 July 4th 2007 is your Chance of a lifetime to drive the world
famous Formula 1 circuit SPA Francorchamps. Spa race circuit, said to
be one of the most challenging tracks in the world. Hills, twists and
dangerous sections make this track extremely exciting to drive. The
original track was 15 km and the shape of a triangle but has since been
modified and now only has a length of 6.9 km. The track due to its
location can suffer severe weather changes and while driving some parts
of the track it can be dry and bright, other parts will be wet and dull
making driving conditions harder to tackle. The track also boasts one
of the most challenging sections of a race track, the Eau Rouge, after
tackling the La Source hairpin the driver will be able to race down a
straight before racing up a steep hill going into a combination of

DesignTek & Brembo….
 DesignTek becomes the official partner for the Brembo GT Porsche
program. The new GT Porsche range offers cast aluminium calipers, 6
pistons front & 4 pistons caliper rear with a 380mm 2pc brake disc.
Brembo operates in the High Performance world in order to meet the
great demand coming from the enthusiast market. On Tuesday 17th April
2007 DesignTek visited Brembo’s High Performance R&D department to
“seal the deal” and undertake technical training for the complete
upgrade system which are realized and tested 100% by Brembo. The new
deal will see DesignTek by Brembo GT Porsche brake kits on the market
very soon.

FearnSport New year New start….
 Andy Fearns, Managing Director and founder for Fearnsport becomes
and official stockiest and approved fitting centre for the DesignTek
range. The New Year sees a new Porsche tuning and servicing centre open
in Northamptonshire, specializing in RS, GT-series and Turbo models.
Fearnsport, based at Silverstone, ‘the home of British motorsport’,
aims to offer Porsche owners the finest road car, track car and race
car preparation in the UK. DesignTek have become one of their major
performance parts suppliers from March 2007.
